USF St Pete Hosts Guy Harvey Symposium

Dr Bill Hogarth of FIO, Dr Sophia Wisniewska, and Mr Guy HarveyUSFSP hosted the Guy Harvey Symposium this week, which featured presentations, panel discussions and the latest research on issues facing marine fisheries from leaders in marine research, conservation and policy groups. The symposium was attended by Guy Harvey himself, chairman of the board for the Guy Harvey Research Institute and a well-known conservationist and advocate for the protection of the environment, as well as a celebrated artist, photographer, speaker and filmmaker. Many of our students, both in biology and environmental science and policy, and in graphic design, had the opportunity to speak to Mr Harvey.

The event is a great example of how USF St Pete continues to interact with the community and is a testimony to our value of Care for the Natural Environment.
